My Bump on 14th weeks

I'm so happy when suddenly I felt something pricking on my tummy... I'm sure that's my baby and it's really made me smile :) Here's more information on baby's development this week.
Crown to rump, your baby is around 3 and a half inches / 9 centimeters long and weighs one and a half ounces / 43 grams. The body is now growing faster than the head. This week, its parchment-thin skin covers itself with lanugo (ultra-fine, downy hair that usually disappears before birth). Though eyebrows are beginning to grow and the hair on top of the head is sprouting, this hair may change in both texture and color after birth.
About now, the fetus can grasp, squint, frown, and grimace. It may even be able to suck its thumb. Researchers believe these and other movements probably correspond to the development of impulses in the brain.
If you haven't yet made an appointment for maternal serum screening (also known as the triple test), you may want to do so now. The test provides more information about your baby, and screens for Down's syndrome and other birth defects. Also, your doctor may recommend an amniocentesis between 15 and 18 weeks for women over 35 and those with a history of birth defects. If you are over 35, have a look at our article on how age affects pregnancy.

How your life's changing
You're probably feeling brighter and livelier than in the first three months and have put the early symptoms of pregnancy firmly behind you. Some unlucky women do find that the nausea drags on so if you are still being very sick, contact your doctor or midwife for advice. Most women find the second three months the easiest stage of pregnancy when sleep is sounder  and your bump isn't too big to impede your movements. Make the most of these energetic middle months to enjoy activities such as swimming, walking and low-impact aerobics.
It's also a good time to sort out practicalities with your partner, discussing your maternity leave and thinking about childcare, if you intend to return to work after your baby is born. Find out what it's like to be a working parent. Talk to other parents at your work, in your family and among your friends for advice and support.

New Blessing from God

Yes! I got another tutorial service, although I'm quite intimidated because it's a grade 6 student and it's quite a long time I didn't handle an intermediate level so I'm not so familiar with the subjects especially Math (the subject I hated the most :) Anyway, with the used of the net and lots of references I know I can handle it. I reallly thank you oh Lord because inspite of my anxiousness and worries that I don't have a  regular job  in school especially with my condition now, you're still giving me hope and so much blessings... iloveyou Lord God!!!

The Most Beautiful Sound I've Ever Heard...

I'm still here... :) Actually I'm always in front of  the computer but  not in the mood to blog.  I can't go back to sleep again so I just decided to make a post and I really want to share this story.Last June 29, I had my prenatal check-up at Chinese General Hospital (why I chose that hospital, I will tell that story on a separate post) whoooooooaaaaaa, I thought they will not accept me anymore because I came late. They have a 7:30AM cut out pre-natal chek-up and I came 7:45AM . But because I told the nurse that I still came from Cavite she still considered me and thanks God for that…. So, when I signed up from the list I’m in the 142nd patient… (so many huh!!!)  And so, I’ve waited for more than 4hours before it’s my turn for the check-up. Actually, I’m really excited with this check-up because for the first time I will hear my baby’s hearbeat. When I did my ultrasound a month ago, I saw my baby’s heartbeat and I really felt a different level of happiness that time. And so, when I laid down from the hospital bed, the nurse get first the measurement of my tummy (it’s 16cm) followed by the heartone… We thought we cannot yet hear the heartbeat because I’m only in my 12weeks. But thanks God, even if it is only as soft as the raindrops sound I’m really so happy  and that’s the most beautiful sound I’ve ever heard in my life. It means that my baby is still kicking  and  safe inside my womb. How I wish my husband was there so he can hear also (he has work that’s why… ) Well, I’m looking forward again for my next check-up (on July 29) and I hope my baby’s heartbeat is much louder… so let’s see on my future post :)
